Keynote Address

Alvin Sturdivant


Dr. Alvin Sturdivant is serving as the Past-President of ACUHO-I. He serves as the Vice President for Student Development at Seattle University. In his role as Vice President, he serves as the senior student affairs officer and provides visionary and administrative leadership for several key departments towards fostering student success, engagement, retention and an integrated learning experience. Dr. Sturdivant also holds adjunct appointments in the College of Arts and Sciences, specifically in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies and Sociology, teaching courses associated with multiculturalism, the deconstruction of hate in the US and abroad, and race and ethnicity.

Prior to joining Seattle University, Dr. Sturdivant has worked at Saint Louis University, University of Vermont and Syracuse University. He received his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with an emphasis in Higher Education Administration from the University of Vermont and his Master of Education and Bachelor of Art in Psychology at North Carolina State University.
