|New to SEAHO?|
Welcome to our site! SEAHO stands for the Southeastern Association of Housing Officers. We are a regional affiliate of the Association of College and University Housing Officers - International (ACUHO-I). Our association represents the dedicated professionals of higher education student housing in the following states:
If you are a faculty, staff, or student working or interested in student housing, then SEAHO is your association. In addition, we partner with our corporate partners who provide our institutions with products and services that help us serve our residents.
If you're new to SEAHO, we suggest that you take a look at our history page to get a better understanding of how our association has grown. Each year during February, we have our annual conference which provides an excellent opportunity to meet and network with other professionals in the region, learn about products and services that are relevant to your institution's needs, and attend programming sessions so you can learn from the knowledge of your colleagues. In addition, SEAHO provides the SEAHO Report, a quarterly publication with articles from the region on various activities and professional experiences.
Once you've gotten a feel for what SEAHO is about, you'll definitely want to get more involved. Getting involved in SEAHO will help strengthen your leadership abilities, provide you with opportunities to teach and learn from others, and will also provide you with the opportunity to give back to the organization. The easiest way to get involved is to sign up as a presenter, volunteer or program moderator during the annual conference (this is done when you register for the conference). SEAHO also has various committees that work together to ensure the success of the association, and if you have the time, we definitely would enjoy having you participate in one of our committees.
Leadership within SEAHO comes from the Governing Council, which is made up of the Executive Board, the various committee chairs, and a representative from each state. You can click on the Governing Council option in the left menu to view contact information. For more information on the responsibilities of each position, you'll want to check out the SEAHO Constitution.
SEAHO also promotes recognition throughout the region by providing awards at the annual conference. Prior to each conference, you can view the various awards and nominate your colleagues.
You can get involved in SEAHO by completing our involvement form. If you're interested in contacting another member of SEAHO, we invite you to use the Member Search feature, accessible near the top of the left navigation bar.
We hope that you enjoyed this brief introduction to SEAHO and our new website. If you wish to get in touch with us, please feel free to contact us at any time.
