Committee Chair Select Interest Form

Thanks for your interest in serving as Chair Select for a SEAHO Committee. We want to make sure we do all we can to best serve SEAHO members. Please complete the following interest form by December 1st, 2024.

In addition to duties outlined in the Leadership Manual, expectations of Chair-Select/Chair include:

Participate in committee and committee chair meetings and lead committee meetings
Attend a monthly one on one meeting with either the Director of Committees or Director of Communications
Participate in planning process for committee throughout the year
Read and respond to committee email and phone correspondence
Attend the Annual Conference and Mid-Year Meeting during your term as Chair
Attend SEAHO virtual business meeting prior to conference
Attend Governing Council Committee Chair Training at the Annual Conference
Do not take on additional roles on other SEAHO committees or the host team
Confirm Senior Housing Officer and Direct Supervisor approval and support to serve in this role

New chair-selects will begin shadowing current chairs immediately upon selection and will take over full committee chair responsibilities at the 2026 Annual Conference in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Dates for committee meetings, chair meetings, and SEAHO events in which you are expected to be present are included below.

Meetings will be held on the second Friday of every month at 11am EST (except for August meeting due to residence hall staff training and opening)
