Hey SEAHO! First, thank you to those that felt compelled to nominate me for this honor! I am amazed to be on this slate alongside such strong leaders in the SEAHO Organization.

The theme of my professional career and external development has been: Take a chance on me – think ABBA and all! After the first year of my professional career, I was selected to attend RELI at the University of Miami in the Summer of 2022. Like many that have attended before and since, RELI changed my life and my professional trajectory. While thinking the RELI Selection Committee must have mixed up my application with someone else’s and there was no way I really got selected, I decided that if I was ever in a room with those from our field, that I would take the time to learn everything that I could from them. When in these rooms, the question of “In what ways can I positively contribute to this space or add impact?” became the question that has served as my beacon moving forward.

Like plenty of stories from my childhood in Ocala, Florida – it all started in the middle of the woods! My service to SEAHO began at the Florida Housing Officer’s Meeting in October 2022, located at the infamous campsite that FHO had been using for decades to host this conference (if you know, you know). At that time, the Florida State Representative was looking to expand the Florida Housing Officers’ presence by developing an Executive Board. Chance number two taken on me was during my bid for the Student Leadership Coordinator role, a new position intended to bring back student conferences that had been discontinued due to COVID.

Since being elected as the Student Leadership Coordinator in October 2022, FHO and SEAHO have not been able to get rid of me! I attended my first SEAHO in Richmond, Virginia in 2023. I heard Virginia was for lovers, and it sure did make a lover of SEAHO out of me. Engaging with Corporate Sponsors, learning from leadership and those across the region, and connecting with RELI ghosts of past helped me understand how SEAHO is a family, and why everyone wants to be a part of it! In the time since that first FHO and SEAHO Conferences, I have become a regular.

After successfully piloting the Leadership Education Advancement Program (LEAP) Student Conference experience with Florida A&M University in Spring of 2023, I have helped plan and execute three additional LEAP Conferences and established the process for institutions to express interest and successfully host this engagement opportunity for residential students and staff across Florida. Although I was re-elected into the role at FHO 2023, my service to the state of Florida and SEAHO quickly changed after attending SEAHO 2024 in Charleston, South Carolina. When a vacancy in the Florida State Representative position became open, my role on the Executive Board was identified to serve as State Representative in the interim, via the constitution that had been created for FHO.

SEAHO once again took a chance on me when the Florida delegation elected me to serve full-time as the Florida State Representative at FHO 2024. This has resulted in an increase in Corporate Sponsorship, which has supported the growth of FHO and support of the professionals across the state. This tenure has also allowed me to serve on SEAHO Governing Council, one of the rooms where it happens. Witnessing leadership from across the region pour into SEAHO and its professionals made me feel a sense of awe, admiration, and the deep inclination to continue being a part of the change.

What I would bring to the role, if SEAHO takes the chance on me…

First, I must give my gratitude to the recently transitioned State Representative group. When navigating spaces like SEAHO Mid-Year, I felt like the little kid at the big kid’s table. I could not believe that I was really sitting in Governing Council, witnessing the Presidential Trio and rockstars from our field hang out like old friends. The State Representative group gave me the encouragement and confidence to share my thoughts and opinions in these spaces, because it would be a disservice to my State and delegation if I did not. This group was one that took a chance on me, which allowed me the opportunity to do that for the incoming group of State Representative. The current Director of State Representatives, Jana, has created a path of connection for the State Representatives. I would love to continue my service in SEAHO by continuing to build the legacy of the State Representatives. Each state is unique in their needs, services, and organization. Each representative comes from a different institution type, with various professional titles and experiences. I would love to serve as the welcoming face and guide them throughout this leadership experience within their sate. I want to help continue to develop the connection between State Representatives through regular meetings, any professional development conversations and workshops that may benefit them or their state organization and help create any materials and support needed for them to succeed individually and to help bring their state along with them. I would offer individual support to State Representatives, including individual meetings to help develop any plans or goals for their state delegation. With being fresh from the State Representative position myself, I would help promote the SEAHO Strategic Plan and SEAHO All-Year initiatives by encouraging year-long involvements, engagements, and communications with their professionals and leadership across their state. I would love to serve our region by moving my advocacy from being state based, to being for the region through connections with each State Representative. Each state in the SEAHO region deserves to feel as celebrated and supported as those that have their rhythm down, and I would love to support the professionals that volunteer their time to help get them there.

Across all these years and roles, one truth has remained constant: strong state representation and strong state organizations are essential to SEAHO’s continued success. Our states are the heartbeat of our region, and I want to play a role in ensuring they are equipped, connected, and empowered, so SEAHO continues to thrive.

I am elated at the possibility of being elected as the next Director of State Representatives because I believe in the power of our states and in the individuals entrusted to speak on behalf of their membership. This role offers an opportunity to serve alongside these leaders to elevate their voices, strengthen communication across our region, and co-create systems to ensure every member feels connected, informed, and supported. 

During my NCHO presidential terms, I worked closely with our State Representative to maintain strong communication and remain attuned to the needs of the diverse populations within our state from students all the way up to Senior Housing Officers. Preserving the partnership was essential to ensuring we were responsive, informed, and aligned in meeting the needs of our membership. That experience reinforced for me how vital intentional collaboration and state-level insight are to the success of our region. 

As a servant leader, I approach this work with humility, collaboration, and a commitment to empowering others. I view this position as a partnership rooted in shared purpose and collective growth. My promise is to take a strategic, intentional, and person-centered approach to supporting our State Representatives and the broader SEAHO community. During my NCHO presidential term, I took a similar collaborative approach. This partnership-driven model proved integral as we made key decisions about our annual conference, including its location and the strategic allocation of resources. By transitioning the conference from hotels back to college campuses across North Carolina, we significantly increased the vibrancy of the conference experience and the revenue available to reinvest in our membership. As a result, NCHO was able to double and in some years, nearly triple the number of scholarships awarded.

This outcome was a direct reflection of strong state-level collaboration, thoughtful planning, and a willingness to think outside the box to enhance access and opportunity for our members.

It is critical for us to continue building on the practices already in place, such as contributing articles to the SEAHO Report, while also identifying new and innovative ways to engage our membership year-round. Whether through enhanced communication, intentional touchpoints, or more dynamic opportunities for involvement, I am committed to helping our State Representatives lead with clarity, confidence, and connection.

If elected, my vision centers on continuing to strengthen the infrastructure that supports our State Reps and, by extension, the institutions and professionals they represent. Key components of that vision include:

• Annual State Town Halls to keep our membership informed, offer transparency, and create accessible opportunities for feedback on the initiatives shaping their state in addition to our region.

• Strategic support for State Reps, leveraging my experience leading a state organization to help them build/maintain sustainable systems, amplify their state’s unique needs, and bring forward the perspectives of their membership.

• Intentional communication pathways that ensure our members remain connected to regional priorities, emerging opportunities, and one another.

I am passionate about working with our State Reps to create meaningful engagement, accessible information-sharing, and opportunities that help SEAHO continue to thrive—not only in supporting our housing programs, but in uplifting the individuals who make this work possible. It would be a privilege to continue serving this region in a capacity that strengthens our states, honors our members' voices, and builds on SEAHO’s proud legacy.

Dr. Dan Colascione

Director of Residence Life | University of South Carolina

Hello SEAHO!

I am honored to be nominated for the role of Director of State Representatives. SEAHO has been my professional home since attending my first conference in 2011 as a graduate student. I walked into that space not knowing what to expect, but I was welcomed with open arms by professionals who showed me the power of relationships and community. That experience shaped my career and inspired my commitment to give back to the organization that gave me so much.

My passion for state-level engagement began with the South Carolina Housing Officers Association (SCHOA), where I served as President, hosted the state conference three times, and now conclude my term as State Representative. These roles gave me a deep understanding of the unique structures, challenges, and opportunities within our states. I’ve seen firsthand the dedication and creativity of State Representatives, and I believe there is room to bolster this position through expanding responsibilities and influence to match the passion and talent of those serving.

As voting members of SEAHO’s Governing Council, State Representatives play a critical role in shaping our region. If elected, I will work to:

• Build Community: Foster collaboration through monthly meetings, themed discussions, and one-on-one connections.

• Increase Engagement: Create opportunities for State Representatives to contribute beyond conference updates, including involvement in committees and strategic initiatives.

• Strengthen Onboarding: Develop a clear, adaptable onboarding guide to support smooth transitions and continuity.

• Enhance Communication: Share resources and best practices across states to streamline processes and elevate success.

I will lead with these guiding principles:

• Collaboration: Invite committee chairs, executive board members, and host committee members as guest speakers to State Representative meetings.

• Innovation: Meet with each state board at least once to understand their unique needs and culture.

• Positive leadership: Be transparent about expectations and my work on the executive board to elevate state voices.

Alignment with SEAHO’s Strategic Plan:

• SEAHO’s new strategic plan provides a roadmap for growth and impact over the next several years. As Director of State Representatives, I will ensure our work aligns with these priorities by:

• Connecting state-level initiatives to regional goals, ensuring consistency and shared purpose.

• Encouraging State Representatives to identify opportunities within their states that advance strategic objectives, such as growing connections, knowledge sharing, and member engagement.

• Using the strategic plan as a framework for monthly discussions and collaborative projects, so our efforts contribute directly to SEAHO’s vision for the future.

Beyond my state involvement, I’ve contributed regionally as a RELI Faculty member in 2022, and through numerous SEAHO committees and presentations. These experiences have reinforced my commitment to leadership that is inclusive, intentional, and forward-thinking.

Thank you for considering me for this role. My greatest hope is for State Representatives to have an excellent Director, and I believe my experience and vision position me to be that leader.

Jillian Webber

Assistant Director | Appalachian State University

Good day SEAHO,

I am thankful for both the nomination for the Secretary position, but also for the people who have mentored, guided and helped me grow into the professional I am in University Housing. I have spent my entire professional life within the SEAHO region. First in Virginia, then Mississippi and now North Carolina. Having traveled to and through all the SEAHO states, I know that SEAHO truly is my home.

Although I am relatively new to the field, compared to other people vying for this role, I know it is the quality of my SEAHO experiences that have led me to this election. When I first moved to the region in 2016, from Massachusetts, I knew literally no one – let alone who I was going to be in the field. In engaging first with VACUHO then SEAHO, I knew I made the right choice to leave everything I had known in moving south.

Serving as the Chair of the SEAHO Editorial Board has been a highlight of my SEAHO experience so far. I have met many people from across the region who continue to shape who I am. When I took the reins as the Chair, I set myself two goals: First, each edition should have engagement from all states whether through writers, state updates or committee involvement. My second goal was to increase the number of articles per edition through targeted outreach via notes, emails, messages and of course our iconic hot dog pins. In both goals I and my Editorial Board have been successful.

Through the SEAHO Report, I was also able to conduct outreach to those responsible for publications, newsletters and listservs from the other ACUHO-I regions in and out of the country, with the aim of improving our Report and ideally saving the region money on how we publish. This side-project will help me continue to build and hone the relationships I made in and out of the region as SEAHO Secretary, which requires working with people from all over the region to organize and complete tasks.

If elected as Secretary, my main goal would be to ensure that meeting minutes and data are collected, organized and shared appropriately as my predecessors have done. Having a close relationship and understanding of how our publications work in the region will only help with information delivery and transparency. Having been a state secretary in my past, I would use the skills learned in those meetings to continue to take comprehensive notes that help grow and advance our amazing region.

As VACUHO Secretary, I traveled all over the state of Virginia for business meetings, diligently tracking meeting minutes to ensure those not in attendance were able to understand the decision making process for the org, involvement opportunities as well as information as to what was happening around the state. These meetings looked very similar to Governing Council meetings I have attended in my current SEAHO Committee position. The goal for taking minutes is to keep things as organized, readable and uniform as possible; these are skills that I would take with me into the SEAHO Secretary position.

Just as with my role as Chair for the SEAHO Editorial Board, I will plan to put aside weekly time on my calendar to solely focus on my SEAHO responsibilities. Taking on this position is not something to take lightly. Joining the Executive Council for SEAHO requires a level of commitment and organization and I am fully invested in providing both to ensure I enhance our wonderful region.

I look forward to doing my absolute best for this region, as I have been provided so many opportunities just by being in the community. For this, I am truly appreciative and thankful.

Hello SEAHO! With much excitement and a big dose of gratitude for the rockstars who have

paved the way, I am incredibly honored and humbled to be considered a candidate for the

SEAHO Secretary position.

Like many of you, I consider SEAHO my professional home. My career and life have been

deeply rooted in the region, with professional and life experiences across Florida, North

Carolina, Georgia, and now South Carolina! The commitment and dedication of the professionals

who lead and serve is why this region is so special. I owe a lot to those before me, and I believe

it is my turn now to give back to the association that has given so much to me.

The role of the Secretary is immensely important: they are the official record keeper and

correspondent, maintaining our region’s identity and ensuring transparent communication is

shared across the membership. My professional experience in high-level operations, paired with

my organizational skill and collaborative approach, has equipped me with the detailed focus

necessary to serve effectively.

My professional background at the Director level at both small private liberal arts colleges and a

large public research institution provides me with a unique and well-rounded perspective on the

varying needs of institutions across our region.

I am a highly organized and detail-oriented individual. I will fulfill the core duties of the

Secretary by ensuring that the association's records serve as clear, reliable institutional memory.

• I will create clear, concise, and accurate minutes of all Executive and Governing Council meetings.

• I will utilize my capacity to synthesize information into actionable next steps and distill key takeaways.

• My past service includes reorganizing the GHO online drive, transforming a disorganized "dumping ground of documents" into a structured, organized resource—a skill directly applicable to SEAHO’s records.

2. Proactive Communication and Technological Efficiency

I understand the value of clear communication and leveraging technology to engage members.

My professional experience demonstrates success in building and maintaining communication

channels.

• As GHO President, I successfully created a monthly newsletter that kept the listserv informed of upcoming deadlines, job openings, and professional development opportunities.

• As the Creator and Developer of Luminstruct.com (since 2013), a resource website, I have proven success in creating and maintaining a large-scale project and organizing and curating vast amounts of information for thousands of users.

• I will collaborate closely with the website and communications teams to streamline the accessibility of minutes and association announcements, ensuring timely distribution to the board and membership.

My wide-ranging experience in state, regional, and national service, combined with my

professional experience in administrative efficiency and operations, makes me prepared to

support the Governing Council and Executive Board effectively. I view the Secretary role as a

supportive lynchpin for the entire association, and I am ready to collaborate to advance SEAHO's

mission.

Hello SEAHO family,

I am incredibly honored to be nominated for the position of SEAHO Secretary. My SEAHO story began in 2012 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, when I attended my first conference as a brand-new professional eager to learn, connect, and understand the work ahead of me. What I found there was transformative. SEAHO introduced me to generous, thoughtful leaders, true stewards of our profession, who challenged me, poured into me, and helped me grow into the professional I aspired to be. From that moment in Chattanooga through the 2016 conference in Raleigh, SEAHO became a home that filled my cup, shaped my leadership, and affirmed my commitment to this field.

As life evolved, I had to step back and reevaluate my own personal growth and direction. For nearly a decade, my career took me outside the region into roles that stretched me in important ways and expanded my professional lens. Those experiences were invaluable and yet, throughout that time, I always hoped I would one day return “home” to SEAHO. And as they say, you can go home again. Last year, when I had the amazing opportunity to join the Residence Life and Housing team at Wake Forest University, I was able to return to the SEAHO region, and it immediately felt like stepping back into the community that launched me. I am grateful every day to be home again.

My journey, from those early formative years, through my time away, to my return, is why I feel such a deep desire to serve. I want to give back to the association that invested in me, supported me, and continued to check in on me and shape me even when I was not physically present in the region. Over the years, I have been fortunate to contribute to SEAHO in several capacities, including:

Greetings SEAHO Colleagues,

I am deeply honored to be included on this year’s election slate for the position of President-Elect of our esteemed organization. Knowing that my peers consider me a viable candidate for this role is truly humbling. My progressive work experience and history of leadership across various organizations have prepared me to serve SEAHO effectively and advance its mission.

My connection to SEAHO and its dedication to excellence in housing programs and staff began early in my career. As an RA at Appalachian State, I vividly recall the excitement surrounding SEAHO conferences. A large departmental delegation would attend, returning recharged and brimming with stories. I still remember the thrill of being selected to attend the conference in Baton Rouge during my first year of graduate school.

Absence made my heart grow fonder as I spent the first 10 years of my professional career in SWACUHO. While I am grateful for the opportunities to get involved, serve in leadership roles, and build relationships in that region, deep down I always knew there was no place like home—SEAHO. Upon returning to SEAHO, I immediately got to work, contributing through various roles and initiatives that have deepened my appreciation for the organization and its profound impact on our profession.

I am a student-focused professional whose guiding principle has always been to “pay it forward.” The satisfaction of knowing I’ve made a meaningful impact on students’ lives is incredibly powerful. As my roles have evolved to include less direct student interaction, I’ve extended this approach to supporting staff as well. If elected as President-Elect, I will bring this same servant leadership philosophy to SEAHO—working to create an environment where others feel comfortable, thrive, and perform their best work. Fostering collaboration and inclusivity is essential for ensuring SEAHO continues to be the professional home for so many in our field.

I will lead SEAHO with the same passion, care, and vigor that I bring to my role as Executive Director of University Housing at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

Vision for SEAHO

If elected, I have several key goals I hope to accomplish:

1. Increase Engagement and Participation: Build on SEAHO’s upward trend in attendance and participation by engaging more colleagues and taking actionable steps to ensure they can access the conference and other resources SEAHO offers.

2. Strategic Planning: As we approach the conclusion of our current Strategic Plan, assess its outcomes—especially considering the challenges posed by the pandemic—and prepare for the implementation of the 2026–2031 iteration.

3. Strengthen Community: Enhance SEAHO’s role as the leading resource for higher education housing professionals in the Southeast by fostering collaboration and inclusivity among members.

I am excited about this opportunity to serve SEAHO and work collaboratively toward advancing our shared mission. Having started my career in another region where I was actively involved, I can confidently say there is no place like home—SEAHO.

Hello SEAHO!

The greatest compliment is having your work recognized by those who have been impacted by it or

have seen its reach. Being nominated to lead an organization that has been a major part of my

professional and personal journey is truly an honor.

SEAHO has been my professional home since 2012. It is the place where I found my people, and

place in this field. I have been able to learn, grow, serve, and lead in this association. As a candidate

for SEAHO’s next president I believe that SEAHO is uniquely situated to have an impact on how we

move through and forward as we navigate new realities effecting our students, campuses, and

Work.

We are at a pivotal point in Higher Education that is requiring us to think and actualize our ideas

and practices in a different way for the betterment of our students experience and the sustainability

of our profession. Our socio-political climate is requiring us to be more intentional, informed, and

purposeful as we navigate the changing landscape.

I believe SEAHO is a leader in sharing best practices as we shape the future of our profession.

Leading a community of practitioners, scholars, administers, and students, that are thought leaders

It is an honor to be considered for the Director of Communication role alongside a talented slate of candidates. The Director of Communications advises the Marketing and Organizational Promotions, SEAHO Report, Assessment & Research Committees, and Website Management Committees. Some of my points of pride include launching the SEAHO storefront in 2018, which required collaboration with various stakeholders to promote SEAHO, and building a Guidebook from scratch with innovative features for the 2023 SEAHO Annual Conference, an effort that involved working closely with the Marketing and Website Management committees to ensure an engaging and seamless digital experience for attendees. Additionally, my service on the 2024-2025 SEAHO Website task force has deepened my understanding of web content strategy and how to manage online communications to support organizational goals. My contributions to the SEAHO report through submitting articles reflect my commitment to information sharing and connecting members align with the role’s focus on advising the SEAHO Report Committee. While I do not have direct experience with the Assessment & Research Committee, I anticipate earning my Educational Doctorate (EdD) in May 2025. For my dissertation, I am collaborating with teammates on an improvement science project for our partner NIRSA, the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association. We are assessing their members’ needs and developing a communication strategy. These experiences, along with my hard work ethic and motivation to improve member experiences, are a few reasons I consider myself a strong candidate for the role.

Hello SEAHO!

I am completely humbled to have been nominated for SEAHO’s Director of Communications. When I came into this association, I never imagined the experiences I would glean from it when I tumbled into the region in 2018. Since then, I have been on almost every Marketing and Communications Committee, participated in RELI, became the SEAHO Report Editor and witnessed the position become a full-fledged committee. I have gotten to work with incredible professionals and help them give back to our organization. My passion, I have discovered, is bringing more and more professionals into the SEAHO fold, and helping them find their Home Sweet Home within the association.

In 2022, I found my place in the organization by communicating out the knowledge of our members and the news of the organization, as the SEAHO Report Editor. While I have been in this role for the past three years, we have been able to build one of the largest Editorial Boards in the SEAHO Report’s history. So large, in fact, we were able to establish the SEAHO Report Editorial Board as a full committee! In rolling off as Editor, I know I have set the committee up for success, as we are just now entering our first year with a Chair Select process!

Aside from attending annual conferences, serving on committees has been the hallmark experience for me in SEAHO.  This is where the work or our association is done and where the most meaningful relationships have been formed for me professionally. I want to continue to foster this committee member experience so that for years to come, professionals in our region can continue to connect with each other and complete meaningful work.  Much of the Director of Committees role is to support each of the committees, so I hope to lean into to my Developer and Includer strengths to foster strong relationships and focus on new ways to get more individuals involved in the committee experience.  To me, the work of our members on our committees is one of the best ways to accomplish SEAHO’s mission statement.

Through serving in this role, I would hope to accomplish the following goals:

• Find new ways to tell the story to our membership about the importance of committee work.  Motivating members to volunteer and show up should encourage new and deeper involvement, contributing to SEAHO’s strategic initiatives 3.1 and 3.2.

• Engage committee chairs in planning for meaningful engagement year-round in their committees, leading to more consistent involvement and opportunities to develop future leadership in each committee.  This new engagement will provide pathways to leadership and deepen involvement, contributing to SEAHO’s strategic initiative 3.4.

• Seek out and share best practices with other associations across the country.  Advancing the impact of our committee work should include this collaboration.  Not only do SEAHO committees have a story to tell, but there is always something new to incorporate as well.  This should contribute to meeting SEAHO’s strategic initiatives 1.3 and 4.2.

Professionally, my tenure at the University of North Florida has been defined by leading initiatives in training, recruitment, and assessment. At UNF, many of our department’s committees and taskforces are led by our Residence Life Coordinators. We train our Chairs on what it means to be a committee chair and project management. We also provide committee members thorough expectations on what it means to be a successful committee member and how to support other committees. These experiences mirror the Director of Committees’ responsibilities of onboarding, project management, and strategic alignment, ensuring committee efforts align with SEAHO's overarching goals.

Greetings colleagues of SEAHO. I am honored to be on this year’s election slate. Knowing that my peers consider me a viable candidate for the position of President-Elect for our esteemed organization means so much. My affinity for SEAHO and its mission to advance excellence in housing programs and staff started early. I remember hearing about SEAHO as an RA at Appalachian State when a large departmental delegation would leave for the conference. Everyone came back recharge

d and with so many stories. I still remember my feeling of excitement when the department selected me to attend the conference in Baton Rouge during my first year of grad school. I am a student-focused professional. Over the years of doing this job, while my roles and scope may have changed, my focus has not. I always seek to pay it forward. The satisfaction of knowing that I made an impact on the life of a student is so powerful. As my roles began to have less student interaction, that approach started shifting to our staff as well. I will bring this same approach with me as the President-Elect. I am a servant leader who works to create an environment where others can be comfortable, thrive, and do their best work. I believe this is essential for fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment. This is exactly what we want to provide as we strive to be the professional home for so many people.

If elected, I have a few primary goals that I would like to see us accomplish. I want to continue the upward trend that SEAHO is on with attendance/participation. I want to engage more of our colleagues and take the necessary steps to help them get to the conference and tap into the other resources SEAHO has to offer. As we come to the end of our current Strategic Plan, it will be critical to assess the previous plan (especially considering the pandemic that happened at the start of it) as we head into the implementation of the 2026-2031 iteration.

The President-Elect position is essential in advancing membership involvement and supporting SEAHO’s mission and strategic goals. I firmly believe that the three-year presidency term is key to upholding SEAHO’s vision, mission, values, and diversity statement through continuity, unified direction, and collaboration between the presidential trio.

If elected, I aim to collaborate with the Executive Board and SEAHO members to strengthen our organization and foster regional engagement. Specifically, I will focus on:

• Advancing the development of SEAHO’s new strategic plan.

• Continuing monthly #SEAHOallyear professional development and connection opportunities.

• Enhancing leadership onboarding tools and processes for organizational continuity.

• Connecting with ACUHO-I and other regions to implement best practices and learning opportunities for members.

• Exploring a mid-level manager institute experience for the SEAHO region.

• Expanding financial resources for members while maintaining fiscal health.

SEAHO has become my professional home over the past 12 years. As a transplant from another region, I was welcomed with open arms and I deeply treasure the relationships, knowledge, and collaboration this community offers. I am truly humbled to be considered for President-Elect and am eager to contribute to SEAHO’s continued growth and success.

It is with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility that I accept the nomination for the SEAHO President-Elect position. SEAHO has been a cornerstone of my professional journey, and it would be a privilege to contribute to its continued growth and success. I am fully committed to investing my time, energy, and heart into furthering the success and impact of this incredible organization. 

This is an exciting and pivotal time for SEAHO, as we stand at a crossroads with the unique opportunity to define the strategic direction and ensure the continued excellence of our organization. While the housing profession faces significant challenges—including the enrollment cliff, political pressures, recruitment pipelines, and shifting perceptions of the value of higher education—I am confident in SEAHO’s ability to adapt and rise above these obstacles. 

I believe in the power of SEAHO’s community and am excited to have the opportunity to potentially lead such talented professionals. Our members are the heart of this organization, and I am dedicated to connecting with each of you to better understand your needs and support your growth. I believe in fostering a culture of care, where everyone—regardless of career stage or area of specialization—feels seen, valued, and heard. We need an environment where all housing professionals feel empowered, ensuring the next generation of leaders thrives while supporting the continued growth and evolution of those who have been in the field longer. By prioritizing the well-being of our people, we can build a strong, connected organization where everyone is equipped to succeed and grow in their roles.

My service at the state, regional, and national level has broadened my understanding of the larger landscape of higher education and housing, providing me with fresh insights and innovative solutions to address the challenges we face.  My active involvement in SEAHO has allowed me to contribute meaningfully to the organization's growth while gaining a deep understanding of its operational and strategic needs. SEAHO Position Removal Process

This amendment will add a new Bylaw, placed between Bylaw V. Other Appointments and Bylaw VI. Fiscal Management, then renumber the remaining Bylaws accordingly 

Bylaw VI. Position Removal: 

1. Elected Positions. Failure to satisfactorily perform the duties of the office or position to which you have been elected  (including elected officers, committee chairs and committee members) will result in a vote for removal from the position.  A two-thirds majority vote from the Executive Board is required to remove an individual from their elected position. 

2. Appointed Positions. Failure to satisfactorily perform the duties of the office or position to which you have been appointed (including appointed officers, committee chairs, committee co-chairs and/or committee members) will result in a vote for removal from the position. Two-thirds majority vote from the Executive Board is required to remove an individual from their appointed position.

Amendment #1: 

SEAHO Report Editor Selection Process

The purpose of this amendment is to change the pathway to becoming the SEAHO Report Editor and create consistency between the SEAHO Report and SEAHO's other committees.

This amendment will require 3 voting parts to achieve the whole:

• Part 1: Strike Article IV, 11, b, ii

  • The Current  language states that the “SEAHO Report Editor: appointed by the President as a non-voting member”

  • The rationale to making this change is with the Bylaw updates, the SEAHO Report Editor position would now fall under Article IV, 11, b, i, so ii is no longer necessary

  • Renumber the remaining sub numbers under Article IV, 11, b as necessary following this removal of letter ii

• Part 2: Update Bylaw IV, 3

  • Add “SEAHO Report Editorial Board’ to the list of committees with a Chair-select process

  • Place the list in alphabetical order, making “SEAHO Report Editorial Board” as the last Committee listed and correcting any other alphabetical errors in the list

• Part 3: Strike Bylaw V, 3

  • The previous change to Bylaw IV, 3 makes this one redundant

  • Renumber the remaining list appropriately after removing number 3, which includes correcting the mistaken omission of a number 5

Elections for the 2024 slate will occur with voting for proposed constitutional amendments. Each member institution that attended the previous annual conference or that is registered for the current annual conference shall be entitled to one vote on any issue that comes before the body. All matters coming before the membership or at the annual business meeting shall be decided by a simple majority vote of the member institutions in attendance. Voting will occur electronically beginning January 26th through February 9th. Senior Housing Officers will receive voting instructions for the proposed constitutional amendments and 2024 Elections.
