Many of you have heard about the severe weather we are expecting in Chattanooga today, Wednesday, March 1. At this time, we have projections that includes heavy rain, hail, and high winds with a potential for tornado warnings later this afternoon. (https://weather.com)
Currently our conference schedule is not impacted and schedule in guidebook is up to date, however we will be closely monitoring the weather and updating conference participants as we learn more.
If you have already arrived in Chattanooga, the following is a list of guidelines from each of the locations you may be visiting depending on the timing of when the weather warnings come through:
- If you are in the Chattanooga Convention Center (CCC), they will make announcements over the speaker system with directions of where to go. They will route people to the back service hall near the ballrooms and into the garage if necessary.
- If you are in the MARRIOTT Headquarter Hotel, if there is a tornado warning, they will make announcements over the speaker system with directions of where to go. They will route people down to the basement of the hotel.
- If you are in the STAYBRIDGE SUITES, if there is a tornado warning, an alarm will sound and guests should go to the lobby. Hotel staff will have guests check-in and be routed to the laundry facility on their mezzanine.
- If you are staying elsewhere please follow the directions provided to you by your hotel at the time.
If you are still traveling and have not yet arrived, please monitor the National Weather Service information for the Chattanooga area and make decisions for your personal safety. Guidebook has our updated registration check-in hours.
If you have any questions, please ask someone at the delegate registration table or any of the CCC staff. For any following updates, please check the Guidebook app for any push notifications. They may come through to the "inbox" feature of your SEAHO 2017 Guidebook app (located at the bottom of the menu).
Rain or shine, we still look forward to a great conference experience.
