INTRODUCING SEAHO 2017's
PRE-CONFERENCE PROGRAM

The SEAHO Pre-Conference is for graduate and entry-level professionals to develop within competencies identified by our professional organizations.

This year, the Programming Committee is partnering with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee to help participants develop within basic and intermediate areas of social justice and inclusion. Preconference faculty will help participants understand how to:
  • Engage in critical reflection in order to identify one’s own prejudices and biases
  • Integrate knowledge of social justice, inclusion, oppression, privilege, and power into one’s practice
  • Effectively facilitate dialogue about issues of social justice, inclusion, power, privilege, and oppression in one’s practice
  • Advocate for the development of a more inclusive and socially conscious department, institution, and profession
Space is limited to 60 participants*. Participants will be chosen and notified by February 1, 2017.
*The preconference will have an institution cap to further encourage diversity of participants.
