The Associates Committee is comprised of both members and a chairperson appointed by the President. This chairperson attends governing council meetings as a non-voting member. The Associates committee has several functions. The Committee is responsible for assisting the Host Committee with the recruitment of Associates and sponsorships for the annual conference, serving as a liaison between SEAHO and the Associates who support the Association's activities, recognizing Associates at the annual conference, organizing and selecting the annual Outstanding Associate Award, educating conference attendees and Associates concerning use of the Associates Area, communicating with Associates throughout the year, keeping an overall listing of Associate records combining records from each conference with data in the Associate registration website, working with the Executive Board, Governing Council and the Host Committee, incorporating feedback from the Associates to identify ways to enhance the Associates' experience, and coordinating the Associates conference evaluation form and compiling the information. The Committee also assists in recruiting associates and sponsorships as requested by the Host Committee, and ensures that committee members serve as active liaisons with the Associates at the conference and handle any concerns/complaints in an unbiased fashion. The Committee submits reports and budget proposals to the Member at Large as stated in the deadlines.
Associate Committee Goals for 2013 Conference:
- To confirm 100 booths for the annual conference
- In addition to booth rental to confirm $20,000 in sponsorships for the conference
- Ensure Welcome Letter is included in the SEAHO 2013 Program Booklet
- Work to have a program about Associates accepted for SEAHO 2013
- Secure 3 year contract with Decorator/Pipe and Drape company for the 2013, 2014, and 2015 conference
- Devise a strategy to recognize Associates
- Work to maximize delegate time with associates at annual conference
